Production chef

The Production Chef is responsible for the production of the various food products (dishes, sauces, entrees, etc.) offered in the prepared food section of the company. He/she works in collaboration with the assistant cook and the kitchen assistants under the direction of the kitchen manager. He/she ensures that the store's food hygiene and sanitation standards are respected.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                      

  • Apply instructions in the recipe manual and help supervise the production of final recipes;
  • Clean, cut and chop meats and fish;
  • Prepare all types of menu offerings and oversee the cooking of dishes;
  • Collaborate with kitchen assistants and clerks in their preparation duties;
  • Ensures quality and taste standards of food;
  • Create, develop and improve menu recipes in collaboration with the expert chef;
  • Perform quality control of finished products;
  • Ensure that orders for stores are complete and follow up on them;
  • Maintain inventory of food, supplies and kitchen equipment;
  • Ensures expiration dates of products are checked and removed as necessary;
  • Assists in ensuring the application of sanitation and hygiene rules by all kitchen staff;
  • Coordinate the division of labor among kitchen employees to optimize the team's time and performance;
  • Follow up on the maintenance and cleaning program of the kitchen equipment;
  • Other related duties as required by the job.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • DEP or professional training in cooking
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of the products sold
